Program Will Recognize Local Small Businesses Making a Difference
(FONDA, NY) – Whether it’s a can’t miss spot to dine out, a local hardware store that seems to have everything, or the place where the cashier always remembers your name, everyone has a favorite small business they can’t resist sharing with others.
Recognizing those unique locations and businesses that not only make the County special, but are giving back to the community, County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort and the Montgomery County Business Development Center are launching a new “Small Business of the Month” award.
The awards will recognize local businesses with 20 employees or less who are nominated for demonstrating a commitment to the vitality of their community and the Montgomery County economy. Those interested in nominating a small business can do so by emailing a few short paragraphs about the business to Vincenzo Nicosia at VNicosia2@Co.Montgomery.NY.US.
“Montgomery County has something for everyone. This is a great opportunity to recognize those institutions that make our county unique. When you take time to look around, you see character is everywhere. Creating jobs, investing in our communities and helping others in need are just a few of the things that come to mind when you think about a small business. I’m looking forward to connecting with some of our great local employers that are truly the backbone of our economy,” said County Executive Ossenfort.
“Small businesses are the lifeblood of the American workforce, and Montgomery County’s economy. They are driving our economy and creating opportunities. This recognition is the chance to share our appreciation with the businesses we all rely upon every day,” said Montgomery County Business Development Center CEO Ken Rose.
Selected businesses will receive a visit from the County Executive, an appreciation award and promotional recognition.
