Montgomery County Hosts Hazard Mitigation Planning Workshop
County sponsors community meeting on planning for extreme weather and flooding resilience
Do you live in Montgomery County? Are you interested in learning more about how the community can plan for flood resilience and extreme weather, and how your community can participate in developing strategies for funding future projects to mitigate natural hazards?
Join the staff from Montgomery County Business Development Center and their consultants for a public forum on Tuesday, September 19th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This meeting will be a hybrid event. It will be held in person at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, 200 Clark Drive, Fultonville, NY, or you can sign up to attend online.
This meeting will be a chance for the public to provide input on issues of climate resilience and planning in the face of extreme weather such as heat and flooding, to help craft local sections of the Montgomery County’s Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan. The interactive workshop- meeting will feature information on natural hazard vulnerabilities, previous mitigation strategies and planning for the future. There will be speakers from Tighe & Bond and the county, and opportunities for residents to break out into small groups with their own neighbors to discuss local concerns. Light refreshments will be provided.
There is no cost to attend this event however, pre-registration is required.
