Tire Company Provides 24/7 Service for Vehicles of all Sizes
(FORT PLAIN, NY) – The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the work being done by essential workers like healthcare employees and first responders, but many others have remained on the job serving the community throughout the crisis. One such business that’s been stepping up to meet the needs of those in Montgomery County and beyond has been Hill Top Tire, the county’s oldest and largest tire company whose motto has remained “we service everything from wheelbarrows to earthmovers.”
To recognize this local business for what it has done to help keep the community moving, Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort and the Montgomery County Business Development Center have named Hill Top Tire of Fort Plain as the July Small Business of the Month.
“Hill Top Tire has deep roots in this community and it’s a place where customers know they’re getting personal service from someone who cares about their safety. That commitment is especially true when it comes to their work alongside local farmers and the over-the-road truck drivers who ensure essential products are making it to store shelves,” said County Executive Ossenfort.
“People know Hill Top Tire because they provide exceptional customer service, and a personalized experience. That willingness to go the extra mile for a neighbor in need is why I am proud to honor them as our July Small Business of the Month,” said Ossenfort.
“Hill Top Tire represents the best of our ‘Stronger Together’ attitude. They care about their employees and their customers, and it shows in the work they do to keep people safe, whether it’s through their service trucks, regular tire maintenance or specialty services. Our congratulations go out to Dave, Elwyn and the whole team,” said Montgomery County Business Development Center CEO Ken Rose.
Hill Top Tire, which was founded by Dave Webb in 1990 is now run by Dave and his son, Elwyn, provides tire services for customers from the everyday car and SUV, to commercial trucks, farming equipment and heavy-duty equipment. The company, which employs five people full time, recently expanded its operation to continue to meet customer demands. Besides traditional tire repairs and servicing, Hill Top Tire also operates three service trucks that provide 24/7 support in Montgomery County and the surrounding areas.
Montgomery County’s oldest and largest full-service tire company, Hill Top Tire, has also developed two trademarked tire designs, the Radial 240 R4 and the Radial 275 R4, which are specifically designed for farmers to be used on Silage and Manure Trucks – a common request for many customers in the agricultural industry. The tires are distributed as far north as Maine, as far south as South Carolina and as far west as Ohio.
