MONTGOMERY COUNTY OPENS NEW ROUND OF MICROENTERPRISE GRANT PROGRAM
Grants Range Between $5,000 and $35,000 per Applicant

FULTONVILLE – Montgomery County is pleased to announce the opening of a new round of the Montgomery County Microenterprise Grant Program, providing small businesses with five or fewer employees the opportunity to secure funding ranging from $5,000 to $35,000. Applications for this competitive grant program are now being accepted, with a submission deadline of Thursday, May 1.

This initiative is part of Montgomery County’s ongoing commitment to supporting small businesses, fostering economic growth, and encouraging entrepreneurship throughout the county. The program is designed to help startups and existing small businesses with crucial funding for equipment, inventory, marketing, and other operational needs. This is the newest round of this grant, which saw great success in 2024, with 14 businesses receiving $300,000 of total grant funding.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, and we are committed to providing them with the resources they need to succeed,” said Ken Rose, Director of the Montgomery County Business Development Center. “This grant program is a great opportunity for small business owners to secure the funding they need to launch, expand, or strengthen their operations. We encourage eligible businesses to apply and take advantage of this support.”

The Montgomery County Microenterprise Grant Program has been instrumental in helping local businesses thrive, creating jobs, and strengthening the economic landscape of the county. The program is funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and is administered by the Montgomery County Business Development Center.

Eligible applicants must have five or fewer employees at the time of application and demonstrate a clear plan for how the grant funding will be used to grow or sustain their business.
