POWER PALLET FEATURED IN LATEST “FOCUS ON BUSINESS” VIDEO
FROM THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER
Third-Generation Company Is The Largest Pallet Supplier, Manufacturer in Capital District
AMSTERDAM, NY — What started out as a delivery route has turned into a third-generation family-owned and operated business that now employs more than 100 area residents. Founded in 1975, Power Pallet & Recycling has made a home in Montgomery County and become an industry leader in the production of new and recycled shipping pallets.
Today, the company produces 35,000-40,000 pallets in an average week and offers commercial recycling for clients. Power Pallet also produces its “Adirondack Premium Mulch,” which is twice ground landscaping mulch used by contractors across the region.
“Often businesses that see the most success are the ones that find a need and fill it. That’s exactly what the team at Power Pallet has done,” said Ken Rose, CEO of the Montgomery County Business Development Center (MCBDC). “What’s most striking when you visit their manufacturing facility is the wide array of employment opportunities. From driving forklifts to assembling pallets, they have jobs that cut across the spectrum of skills.”
“Power Pallet has also engaged more advanced manufacturing technology, which is helping them keep pace in a changing world. They’re a great example of how the market, labor force and companies can grow and evolve right here in our community,” Rose said.
