Hagaman-Based Motorsports Company Is Designed For Speed, Engineered To Last.

FONDA – The roots of dirt racing run deep for Dave Constantino and Eric Mack. The owners and co-founders of DKM Fabrication have been working on race cars since they were teenagers and took a hobby they were passionate about, and have turned it into a successful career.

DKM Fabrication has been named Montgomery County’s August Small Business of the Month by County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort and the Montgomery County Business Development Center because of the company’s background in cutting-edge technologies has allowed them to produce the best quality cars and car parts and their superior manufacturing capability allows them to customize and bring new ideas to market quickly.

“DKM is a tremendous company to have located in Montgomery County,” Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort said. “From working with and racing cars to now building them and selling parts, the DKM name is synonymous with a consistent race car that is of the highest quality. The founders of DKM turned something they enjoyed to do growing up into a career by working hard and being committed to excellence.”

Before they were even old enough to drive, Constantino and Mack learned all aspects of racing, mastering everything from assembling and scaling to testing engines, in the process becoming students, learning under a true legend of dirt racing, “The Cyclone” Maynard Forrette.

The engineering focus took place for Constantino while he was working on degrees at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

“We believe we have a better understanding of what our customers are looking for because we (Eric & Dave) have all taken our turn behind the wheel as driver,” said co-owner Dave Constantino.

Constantino has had track championships, including a win in the modified ranks at Fonda Speedway and Mack has collected wins at Albany-Saratoga Speedway driving and has won every major dirt race as a crew chief.

“DKM has continued to have great success because they have kept working at perfecting each and everything that they produce,” Montgomery County Business Development CEO Ken Rose said. “They have become pioneers in the industry by not playing it safe, setting lofty goals for the company always with the idea of how to design high-quality products.”

DKM is proud that its cars and components are manufactured in the United States, with their facility located in Hagaman. Everything they build is designed for speed and engineered to last.

“We are proud to have DKM located in Hagaman, and in Montgomery County,” said District 9 Legislator Robert A. Purtell, who nominated DKM for this recognition. “Throughout the years, they have had so much success, but continue to raise the bar on how they can do things better and more efficiently.”

Recently, the DKM Cyclone Chassis, named in part for Maynard Forette, is one of the most talked about cars on the dirt circuit and viewed as a competitor to larger companies, which have long since been building cars more traditionally. |

DKM is driven to serve their customer and them on their quest for greatness on the track.
