FONDA – Chris and Jen Kelly have made it their goal to provide a fun, family-friendly bowling experience to the community since 2004. At Kelly’s Imperial Lanes, in Amsterdam, you can find league play and open play, as well as special occasion events and fundraisers. Imperial Lanes is also home to three local high school bowling programs — Amsterdam, Fonda-Fultonville and Broadalbin-Perth.
Kelly’s Imperial Lanes has been selected as Montgomery County’s Small Business of the Month by County Executive Robert A. Purtell and the Montgomery County Business Development Center because of the entertainment opportunities it provides the community and its classic experience for individuals, families and groups.
“Imperial Lanes is a great small business in Montgomery County,” County Executive Robert A. Purtell said. “The Kellys have been providing entertainment for the greater Amsterdam community and beyond for many years and we appreciate all of their hard work and celebrate their success.”
Imperial Lanes is a fantastic place for a fun family night out or provides a great entertainment option in the City of Amsterdam. Imperial Lanes also hosts bowling leagues, local tournaments and community events.
“Amsterdam has a long history in the bowling industry,” Kelly’s Imperial Lanes owner Jen Kelly said. “There were several centers in the city that have produced generations of talent and titles. We take great pride in preserving the sport and keeping the love of the game alive. It’s been our pleasure to serve the community of Amsterdam and Montgomery County, and we appreciate everyone’s support for the past 20 years.”
Kelly’s Imperial Lanes is part of the local community, woven into the fabric of the city. Bowling provides an opportunity for people in the community to have an outlet for their physical, social and emotional health, while also being an exercise activity that many can do for a great deal of their lives.
“Imperial Lanes is a great place to go with family,” Montgomery County Business Development Center CEO Ken Rose said. “From a business standpoint, a bowling center provides lots of benefits to the local community. In addition to being a place of employment, the business can bring in revenue from more than just bowling itself.”
Imperial Lanes has full bowling available and league play has resumed this fall. Imperial Lanes is located at 249 Wallins Corners Road, in Amsterdam. Anyone interested in the latest news and events can find them at Facebook @Kelly’sImperialBowlingCenter or call them at (518) 212-2642.
The small business of the month initiative recognizes local Montgomery County businesses that are making a difference in the community.
