FONDA – If you can’t find anything to quench your thirst at Southside Beverage, you probably won’t be able to find it anywhere. When the adult beverage and redemption center opened their doors in 2016, they instantly became a community favorite with their vast selection of beverages and sponsorships throughout Montgomery County.
Southside Beverage has been selected as Montgomery County’s March Small Business of the Month by County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort and the Montgomery County Business Development Center because of its unique options and generosity throughout the county.
“Southside Beverage is a great local business that offers its customers the most diverse selection of adult beverages in the area,” Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort said. “The staff continually provides quality customer service and have been a tremendous community partner throughout the entire County from sponsorships to bottle drives for local Scout Troops.”
Southside Beverage was voted the best Bottle/Can Return-Center in the Leader-Herald & Recorder 2022 Readers Choice. They are a huge supporter of local stock car racing, sponsoring a number of race teams and drivers that participate at the Fonda Speedway and were previously the sponsor for the “Fonda 200” which is the biggest race of the year. Southside Beverage supports Town of Florida native Cole Nelson who is a go-kart driver at the Dodge City Speedway.
The adult beverage and return center has also assisted with class trips and graduation expenses through bottle drives, and have sponsored/donated to organizations throughout Montgomery County, such as the Landis Arboretum and OESJ Helping Hands Food Pantry.
“My vision for Southside Beverage has always been being a big part of the community,” Manager Sam McClary said. “Building relationships with other local businesses is key to supporting our region’s economic development and most importantly it helps foster that community environment that the big box stores lack. We try to take every opportunity to give back to the community that has supported us over the years.”
Located just off the thruway, in Amsterdam, Southside Beverage stocks tons of craft beers, domestic & imports, local brews, ales, stouts and more. They work with many local breweries from the capital region and make sure they are being highlighted and promoted in their store.
“It is great to see collaboration between local businesses supporting each other,” Montgomery County Business Development Center CEO Ken Rose said. “Southside Beverage has been a great community partner and we are proud to have them a part of our business community.”
